My naughty little secret

So I was just over at Darlene's blog, where she has a binding tutorial (so go check it out), and in the spirit of silliness couldn't resist responding with my favorite binding method....if you have a weak stomach you may not want to look at this. My oldest son was quite horrified when he caught me at my tricks.
So far so good, but flip it over and...
Oh my!!!
So I machine sewed these bindings on in January and next thing I know my mojo's gone missing and Valentine's Day was right around the corner...and hey a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do...

edited to add: that is masking tape holding down my binding...Sharon couldn't see anything wrong with this picture lol so thought I'd explain it just in case :)

Great minds think of great solutions! Next time use scotch tape and NO ONE will notice ;) My 92 year old father uses duct tape regularly...he hems his own blue jeans as he 'shrinks'.
Laundry tip: remove and replace before and after washing or drying. ;)

RFLOL I'll have to remember that one!

OMG that is tooooooo funny! I had a skirt in college that the hem was masking taped for months. I love that binding.

Thanks for the smile! I've never thought of that method of binding!

Really, duct tape comes in colours now so you could get some to match. The front looks perfect so if you didn't tell we wouldn't know. Nothing like a deadline to inspire a great idea!

too funny! my daughters like to use duct tape to hem their pants so they can change the length when they wear different shoes.

Well that's one way to get the job done...too funny.

All I have is 'gray' tape...will
that work???

OMG, that's too funny! Years ago I staped a hem in a dress so staples would work, too. LOL

Nothing wrong with that!! I could not live without duct tape Hee!...if the quilt is going to be used a lot and washed a lot, a machine binding just makes sense!

Hahaha... sounds like something I would do.

I agree ...a girl's gotta do.....trouble is if it was me the kids would find it still like that when they are going thru my stuff after I am gone.....!! I would forget it needed to be stitched!!

Just checking in... Hope you have a good day!

It seems like I haven't been over to see you here in forever. I am laughing about the masking tape. Necessity is the mother of invention and this shows it!

You made my day. You win the award for most creative. LOL

That's one way of getting done! I have a friend who glues hers down and when she feels like it, will hand sew. She had one tablerunner glued for over a year! lol
